Ruby at 'Resonate'

I had the pleasure of watching Ruby dance last week in 'Resonate', her final-year performance with the Brit School at the Fairfield Halls' Ashcroft Theatre. It was an amazing show - full of life, ambition, originality and outrageous talent.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Ruby has secured a place on the Musical Theatre Foundation year at the International College of Musical Theatre in Hackney from September - well done Ruby! Exciting times ahead!

Dance Extravaganza 23!

Our return to Streatham Space Project on Sunday, March 26th, 2023 was a huge success and greatly enjoyed by everyone - thank you to everyone who performed, helped backstage or front of house and, of course, everyone who came to see us dance!

Summer 22 Awards presentation

We had another amazing set of results from our summer term exam session - a huge well done to everyone especially those achieving their first awards with the school!

Our Top Marks award was shared this time by Ruby and Edith.

Allyson's Award, in memory of my friend and colleague, Allyson Cawood, was given to Olivia for being such a great role model to others.

Additional special mentions go to Parmeda and Katie G for achieving great merit scores for their Grade 5 ballet and tap respectively and to Ruby for achieving distinction for Grade 4 ballet.

Spring 2022 Awards presentation Congratulations once again to all our dancers following our spring term exam session! We received another set of amazing results and everyone is feeling very proud of themselves. At this session the Top Marks award was shared by our senior dancers - Elodie, Parmeda and Ruby for each achieving 90 marks/Honours for Freestyle First Gold Bar. Allyson's Award, presented in memory of my friend, colleague and teacher, Allyson Cawood, was given to Georgia for her hard work in preparation for her Primary Grade ballet and tap exams.

Ruby at Move It!

Ruby spends her Sundays dancing with Artistry Youth Dance (AYD) - a London based youth dance company that supports young people of African and Caribbean heritage. I was delighted and so proud to be able to watch her perform with them as part of an incredible line-up at Move It at the Excel Centre on March 13th.

Excitement as Ruby appears at the Brits!

February 8th 2022 - our senior dancer and Saturday assistant Ruby Francis-Wint had the amazing experience of dancing with Little Simz at the Brit Awards at the O2 last week with her fellow dancers from the Brit School. Take a look here (at around 1.15 and 1.48) -

Ruby is near the top of the steps to Little Simz lower right when she is looking directly forwards into the auditorium. Well done Ruby - may this be the first of many star-studded performances as you continue your dance journey!

Summer term 2019 exam success!

We are delighted to have received another set of amazing results following our summer term 2019 exam session! Well done to everyone from those taking their very first rosette exams to those achieving their next grades and medals - you can all be very proud of yourselves! This year our special award, Allyson's Award, was shared by our Blue class - Lola, Lola and Hana for their hard work and dedication towards their Grade 1 tap and ballet grades - well done!

Dance Extravaganza, Stanley Halls, June 30th 2018

Our first dance performance as a school was amazing! Thank you to all our wonderful dancers for working so hard and putting on such a good show and thank you to all our families and friends for supporting us. Here are some pictures from the day.

Summer 2017 - more exam success!
We had some amazing results in our summer 17 exam session! Lots of distinctions, merits and highly commendeds and our youngest dancers achieved their first rosettes. We were all very proud of ourselves at the awards presentation in the autumn term. Well done to everyone!

We gave two additional awards - one for the highest mark achieved in an exam which went to Lola D and the other - Allyson's Award - given in memory of my friend, teacher and colleague Allyson Cawood to the person we considered to be most deserving of recognition. This year Allyson's Award was given to Lisa for her hard work and subsequent success in her grade 3 tap and ballet and gold medal freestyle. Well done to both of you!

KC Dancers on Broadway!

We had a fantastic time dancing in 'Beethoven to Bowie' - a performance by our friends at Dance on Braodway in Deptford. We performed our routine to Runaway Baby and we received some great feedback on our dancing, our costumes and our presentation - well done everyone and thank you to Sharon and Scott at Dance on Broadway for inviting us to join in!
